I had an IPL facial done here once before and loved the results, so I came back for a second treatment. This time was completely different. Within a few days, I realized the laser hadn’t just targeted dark spots, it had targeted my entire face and burned off my skin.The skin on my forehead had been damaged, peeled off, and was raw. It’s now been four weeks today and my forehead still has visible streaks. I called the medspa the following week, and instead of taking accountability, the provider argued with me and insisted the results were “normal.” Which is not true — not based on my first experience or anyone I know who’s had IPL. Instead of a refund, I was offered a free IPL session- I will never let them touch my face again.I later got a second opinion and was told very clearly that the laser was set too high and I had been burned. The setting was 1 notch higher than my first treatment, and if my skin was too tan, they should’ve let me know I can’t get that facial done — not turned up the intensity.This happened just weeks before my birthday and a vacation, and now every photo taken has visible damage on my face and it’s made me extremely insecure of how I look. It’s incredibly upsetting and could have been avoided. When something went wrong, they refused to take responsibility and instead I felt gaslit. I will never go back to this med spa nor will I ever get an IPL facial again.
